- Recognize why tobacco is the leading global cause of preventable illness and death and major cause of cancer in the world and the European Union (EU).
- Cite the attributable fraction of cancer due to cigarette smoking use in the EU.
- Describe the evidence on benefits of quitting smoking.
- Outline the available and effective interventions/policies to control tobacco use, such as the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.
