Visual elements are key for the development of efficient and impactful e-learning infrastructures and resources. First, they contribute to intuitive and fluid navigation on a learning platform and guide learners to quickly and effectively find learning resources. Second, visual elements within learning modules or resources strongly contribute to knowledge retention.

During the development of the IARC Learning infrastructure and the compilation of resources, special attention was paid to visual elements. Most of the pictures and images were selected from royalty-free image banks.
