The COVID-19 pandemic has been a catalyst for many changes in laboratory medicine, as well as a high watermark for the collection of infectious disease samples at scale and globally. The presentation provides an overview of the lessons learned from the first two waves of the COVID-19 pandemic regarding the management of COVID-19 samples.
